Go over terminology page 14/15. HO: Newspaper Design book pages 6, 7, 14, 15 A: Small group participation: discuss and report "What will the future newspaper be like" (remember it may not be on paper). Tuesday | T: Newspaper Layout M: In groups, give each group a brown bag filled with identical items. Give them 10 minutes to create the perfect puppet to give to an elementary school student - they have to use everything in the bag. Have them present their creations and defend their design. Relate this to newspaper layout - you have a set amount of information to fit into a publication. There are general rules (like the face of a puppet), but there is room for creativity. C: Discussion - drawing a dummy pages 32,33, 27 (putting text in columns) and 34, 35 HO: Pages 27, 32-35 A: Have students choose a page from the Argus or Beacon and have them begin dummy on pg. 36 layout paper. (10 points) |

We’ll then hold a class discussion about human rights and American constitutional rights. They will then be asked “How would you feel if you were jailed for printing your opinion?”.
